You know, I have been doing some Constitutional reading as of alte and I am torn on this issue, on one hand my Christian beliefs say it is an abomination, while my Constitutional interpretation of the 14th amendment says no citizen of the United States shall have their priviledges denied based based on race, sex, etc., but is homosexuality included in this list, not expressly but maybe in somes interpretation, marriage is considered a priviledge and would this be stripping anyone group of their priviledges...I lean to the side that it is not depriving them because they can still marry, but despite my strong religious beliefs against this, I will think on it longer Reply to this

As a Christian, my problem is with homosexual marraige. Not homosexuality, we are commanded to love the people but hate the sin. Homosexuals are granted every right that every other American is, marraige is not a right, but a biblical definition. and that biblical definition specifiacally states that marraige is a union between God, a man and a woman. Gays are granted every right that we have in this country, and then some, and they're still here fighting for "rights". I think the homosexual community is just trying to shove their way of life down America's throats. Also, gays probably only make up 2% of America, therefore, they ought to act like 2% of America. I agree with you on both counts I hold strong religious beliefs that homosexuality is an abomination and that the 14 amendment prohibits discrimination on race, sex, etc.
But, I believe that the Constitution was written to follow God's law whether intentional or not. I do believe that homosexuality has existed for a long time but back in the time the Constitution was written they didn't have deal with issue because it was shameful and behind closed doors.
I truly believe that if it were meant to be protected under the Constitution it would have been written in. Reply to this

Idon't disagree, and have been thinking, laws not expressly covered are left to the state, so if this is true, isn't sodomy illegal in GA and some other states, GA for sure...this means that it is covered by the state and that makes it illegal since apparently it was left to state rights, but assuming that is what is meant by the fathers is stretching what you can get away with today since, most use the Constitution for their benefit depending on which side of the argument they are on, maybe a supreme court ruling would be in order here...to finally put some finallity on this topic one way or another... As a Christian myself. I have a different view of homosexuality. My problem is with the actual sin and that also includes gay marriage. My Bible doesn't say any gay marriage is wrong. Its say that homosexuality is wrong. Gay marriage is just the homosexuals way of trying to legitamize thems as as normal. Eventhough, I don't condone homosexuality I don't believe we should treat them differently. They are still people. Reply to this
